Chapel

In keeping with our Christian heritage, we have many spiritual life opportunities that focus on bringing students from different faiths together to praise and worship the Lord. In addition to worship we also provide ministry in the community where students can donate time to helping the community grow closer to God.

Worship Opportunities

Chapel
Day & Time: Mondays and Wednesdays 11:00 - 11:55 am
Description: This time is set aside for the entire Canyon Community to join together for relevant praise, worship and teaching. Area pastors will bring the message each week in Chapel.

SALT
Day & Time: Tuesdays 9:00 pm
Description: A ministry of the Baptist Student Union, this service is held at First Southern Baptist Church adjacent to GCU. Attendance counts for Chapel attendance at GCU.

Worship Nights
Day & Time: Held Monthly
Description: A worship experience that is student-led and student-focused.

Discipleship/ Small Group Bible Studies
Day & Time: Various times throughout the week
Description: Discipleship is offered for individuals who desire personal accountability through a closer study of God's Word and the Christian faith journey. Bible studies occur on a weekly basis in a small group setting with student, faculty and staff leaders.

Prayer Chapel
Location: Building 11
Day and Time: Monday - Friday 7:00 - 7:50 am
Description: A place set aside for quiet meditation and prayer in the center of campus.

Canyon Concert series
Location: Ethington Theatre
Day & Time: Fridays, once each month
Description: Offers opportunity for students to hang-out and hear great local Christian bands. Area youth are also invited to join GCU at Canyon Concerts.

Ministry Opportunities

Adopt-A-Block
Day & Time: Saturday @ 9:30 am
Description: Teams of people go to our surrounding neighborhoods and become a servant to the hurting families. By simply being a servant to the people, Jesus' love and compassion is made real to those in need. By delivering food boxes, clothing, and a helping hand we are able to touch many lives for Christ.

Canyon Kids
Day & Time: Saturday @ 9:30 am
Description: Canyon Kids Club is a fun and relational ministry, reaching out with the love of Christ to children in the surrounding community providing fun games, crafts and real relationships to children and even their parents.

Praise Team
Day & Time: Various venue locations
Description: The GCU student-led Praise Team provides praise leadership during Chapel services and additional venue and event opportunities.

President Singers and Gospel Choir
Day & Time: Various venue locations throughout the school year
Description: The GCU President Singers and Gospel Choir travel to local churches, youth groups and schools to share the good news of Jesus Christ in song, drama and testimony. Members are chosen from an application process through the Office of Spiritual Life.

Student Mission Trips
Day & Time: Spring Break and Summer month
Description: GCU students have opportunity to travel participate in Mission trips through the Office of Spiritual Life. Places of ministry vary each year as opportunities to serve are made available for GCU.
