GCU was the only Christian university I applied to. I definitely didn't want to go to one. I thought I would end up at a state school in California. But attending Grand Canyon University was the best decision for me. I believe if you end up at this University, God has you here for a reason.

Many of my instructors impress and surprise me with their knowledge, experience, and passion for their subject areas. Professors really seem to care about what is going on in the lives of their students in more than just academics. They are willing to share their life experiences. They let you shape your own beliefs and ideas about things, but they ask the hard questions.

GCU has provided an environment where students can prepare for the real-world. Each student has their own background and difficulties to deal with. The people at Canyon are great resources to help students grow personally and socially. In addition, the programs and requirements of attending school here, allow students to experience the challenges and necessities of the 'real world.' I feel prepared and ready to go out and succeed in whatever I am involved in and whoever it is with.

The education program has provided me ample opportunity to spend time in the classroom. I have had many opportunities to evaluate my career choices. Due to my classes at Grand Canyon University, I have a practical idea of what my career is going to look like and I feel adequately prepared to be a teacher.

Whenever I think of GCU, I think of people. The people here are amazing and you rarely find such a group of strong Christians, compassionate individuals, and talented, intelligent people like there are at Canyon. The friends I have made and the relationships I have formed are the best thing about Canyon.

At Grand Canyon University you have the opportunity to become who you want to be. If you wish to be involved in church, work, and simply go to class that is fine, but I think the best aspect is the opportunity to be a 'big fish in a little pond.' You can become a leader in Student Senate, the Prayer Ministry, Canyon Kids Club, the list goes on.
